New Interactive Map

10/21/2007 8:55:49 AMInteracTrivia Support

One of the most common feature requests we get is to make the in-game map a bit more "interactive".

You asked, we delivered. Starting today, you will be able move your mouse over a point on the map to see the name of the player. Clicking on their map point will bring up their profile - where you can see their point totals, scoring averages and a larger version of their avatar.

Plus, as an added bonus - you can now zoom and pan the entire map. Click the magnifying glass in the lower-left corner of the map to blow it up to 2 times normal size and use your mouse to drag it around.

Mr
Love the interactive feature and scroll but dot is no longer in right place. I am 1,000 feet from the Atlantic Ocean and original dot showed that. New dot places me on Gulf of Mexico.

Am pointing that out merely as point of interest - I love the game. Thank you for providing it.

One question - I know that other players cannot read private chat, but can you? If so, that is ok but I would like to know to edit it accordingly

Map / Private Chat
GHTIII,

I'll look into the point positioning. Perhaps something got skewed in the update - or maybe you moved and just don't know it yet.

As for private chat, yes it is viewable by us like all chat messages. That said, chat messages are not saved (they are present on our servers for 5 minutes before being purged) and we have zero interest in reading them - choosing to concentrate on improving game play and content. All chat data is viewed only in real-time as a player in the game. We may from time to time, initiated by a complaint from a user, choose to log open chat messages if particular user(s) are acting in a harassing manner; however, our block feature has made this unnecessary to this point.

In the future, we may offer a secure user-to-user connection for private messaging and other features (image / file exchange); however, that would be off in the distance somewhere.

As with any communication, you should be careful what information you provide in an unsecured platform.

I hope that answers your question and gives you the information you need to enjoy the game.

I have some old, but good condition, confessional boxes you can have for free!
Thing is you'd have to collect yourself, I have a bad back and that's for my sins, lol.
I hear George has a good strong right arm due to over or exaggerated indulgence in the demon drink, lol. :) - Mind you, if you can catch him awake, you'll have done well! :P
